Construction of new buildings for Copenhagen Plant Science Centre

The University Board and Property Agency did together with University of Copenhagen arrange a competition to design the new center. The winner of this competition was the Danish Lundgaard & Tranberg Architects, who won in a consortium with Jacobs Engineering Group, Kirstine Jensen Architects ApS and Emendo. The winner was announced on 11th April 2011.
The construction of the first of the new buildings for Copenhagen Plant Science Centre is planned to be finalized in 2015. The first building to be constructed is the 'green' building shown above as number two from the left. This building will be directly connected to the excisting building "højhuset" at Frederiksberg Campus, Thorvalsensvej 40 and will provide 6825 m2 for laboratories and teaching facilities. The competition also includes a master plan for the area including around another 18,000 m2 of new buildings that may come at a later date.
